Lost in translation between Eastern and Western body "aesthetics", I was constantly torn between the ideas of self-discipline, indulgence, diversity, and female competition.
I decided to put myself through a hunger strike for clarity and, by the way, lose weight to under 50kg to be considered "slim", a sickening standard advocated by partial Chinese culture.
Finding body-shaping and industrial prototyping alike, I fabricated a body scale every 5days, etched with my diary and starvation-induced hallucinations, stacking upon weighing feet that reflected each 200g lost.
Like any beauty journey uploaded by YouTubers, my process was published as sharable timestamps by block printing onto newspapers.
